The VW Amarok 2024 is part of the second generation of this German automaker’s pickup truck series. The initial generation was introduced in 2010, while the second generation began in 2022. It competes globally with other mid-size pickup trucks such as the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi L200, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, and Chevrolet Colorado. Notably, the second-generation Amarok is constructed on the framework of the Ford Ranger.

In brief, the Volkswagen design signals that this is unmistakably the Amarok 2024, now larger, more powerful, sportier, and more charismatic.
The new Volkswagen Amarok comes in both a four-door double cab (DoubleCab) and a two-door single cab (SingleCab). Notably, both versions have noticeable half-round wheel arches in silhouette. Unlike many other pickup trucks, the upper edge of these wheel arches forms a straight line, a signature Amarok design element. The wings above the wheels, which can be up to 21 inches in size, have a strong appearance, surrounded by sturdy plastic around the arches. The design gives the impression of the Amarok flexing its muscles. The back of the new pickup is also eye-catching, with the word ‘Amarok’ embossed under the large VW symbol across most of the tailgate’s width.

The interior of the Volkswagen Amarok 2024 is characterized by self-explanatory and digital displays. The display units consist of digital 8.0-inch instruments (fully digital and 12.0-inch on higher trims) and a modern touchscreen in tablet format (10.0-inch, 12.0-inch on higher trims) for the infotainment system. The design incorporates a blend of digital functions and user-friendly buttons and switches, with hard keys controlling features like volume and all-wheel drive settings.
The Amarok’s attention to detail includes features such as the Harman Kardon sound system, standard in the upper  trims and optional for other versions. Exclusively used in the Amarok, this system aligns with the vehicle’s high-quality ambiance. Premium touches also extend to the seats, with ergonomically designed front seats that can be electrically adjusted in higher trims. The DoubleCab rear offers comfort for three adult passengers.
When it comes to carrying stuff, the 2024 Amarok is impressive. There’s a lot of space behind the double or single cab for putting things. The cargo area can hold a Euro pallet sideways, and the single cab version can even hold two pallets in the same way. There are rings in the cargo area to tie down things weighing up to 500 kilograms. The most weight the vehicle can carry has gone up to 1.16 tonnes. Plus, there’s a cover that can be rolled over the cargo area to keep things safe. You can open and close it from inside the vehicle, from the cargo area itself, or by using a remote control with the vehicle key.
