The 2024 Nissan Xterra, alternatively known as the Nissan X-terra or simply Terra, is a mid-size SUV that was introduced in 2018 as a substitute for the discontinued Xterra in the U.S. market. Its origins can be traced back to Nissan’s experimentation with an SUV based on the D23 Navara platform, which eventually evolved into the Terra model. Originally named Terra, this SUV premiered in Asia in early 2018 and subsequently received an upgraded version under the moniker “X-Terra,” launching in the Middle Eastern market in late 2020. The 2024 model year maintains a similar design with minimal changes.

The X-Terra’s interior acoustics are distinctive, highlighted by the strategically positioned 8 speakers that are purposefully integrated to enhance your music experience. With Bose speakers carefully placed throughout the vehicle, every seat becomes a seat in a concert hall, capturing music from various angles for an immersive effect. The impressive 9-inch touchscreen display in the TERRA-X provides easy access to all your on-the-go apps, whether via the touchscreen itself or through the display, granting you seamless control over contacts and music. Additionally, you can stay fully engaged with the premium audio system using the controls on the mounted steering wheel, offering convenient and comprehensive control options.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2024 Nissan Xterra is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 165 horsepower and 241 Nm of torque. This powerplant is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that channels power to the front axle, enabling operation through a front-wheel drive system. For increased capabilities, higher-grade options offer an available AWD all-wheel drive system.

In addition to its existing capabilities, the vehicle incorporates further off-road technologies that enhance its performance on rugged terrain. One such feature is the electronic locking rear differential. This technology becomes particularly useful when dealing with steep inclines where the 4LO mode may not provide sufficient power. By engaging this feature, the power distribution to both rear wheels becomes balanced, significantly improving traction and aiding the vehicle’s progress.

Another notable addition is the brake limited slip differential. This technology proves invaluable when dealing with challenging surfaces like sand or gravel. The system is designed to identify instances of wheel spin and promptly intervenes by rerouting power to the wheels with better grip. This not only prevents the vehicle from becoming stuck but also enhances its ability to navigate out of tricky situations.

2024 Nissan Xterra Prices

The base SE version of the Nissan Jeep begins at $32,515, while the titanium variant is priced at $35,181. The fully equipped platinum edition of the 2024 Nissan Xterra starts at $44,776.
