The GMC Sierra EV Denali , initially introduced in October 2022, was set to redefine luxury electric vehicles with its “Edition 1” at a launch price of $108,695, approximately 407,606 Saudi riyals. This premier model boasted dual electric motors delivering a robust 754 horsepower and a range of up to 644 kilometers (400 miles). Originally scheduled for an early 2024 release, the timeline for this high-end electric truck has since seen positive shifts.

Significantly, the price of the GMC Sierra EV Denali has been revised. Initially estimated, the price tag is now set at a more accessible $99,495, or 373,106 Saudi riyals, inclusive of shipping and delivery costs. This adjustment makes the Edition 1 an attractive proposition with a five-figure price, as clarified by a GMC spokesperson who noted the original figure was merely provisional.

Although GMC did not specify the factors influencing the price reduction, the evolving electric vehicle landscape over the past year and a half has played a role. Competitor Ford made cuts to its F150 Lightning model prices, and the long-anticipated Tesla Cybertruck entered the market at a price point exceeding its initial projections.

Moreover, GMC has enhanced the capabilities of the Sierra EV. The vehicle now promises a range of 708 kilometers (440 miles), an increase of 10%, attributable to the advancements in GM’s Ultium platform. This range not only surpasses that of the F150 Lightning and Cybertruck but also edges out the Rivian R1T.

The Edition 1 also excels in utility, offering a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds (4,536 kilograms) and a payload capacity of 1,450 pounds (658 kilograms). While towing near these limits might reduce range, the GMC Sierra EV Denali supports rapid charging up to 350 kilowatts, capable of restoring 100 miles (161 kilometers) of range in just 10 minutes.

The only slight setback is the revised delivery schedule. Instead of the initial early 2024 timeline, GMC now expects to roll out the Edition 1 trucks by the summer of 2024. This delay, while extending anticipation, promises to deliver a vehicle that is well worth the wait.
