At a prestigious gathering of actors, celebrities, and journalists in South Korea, Genesis unveiled the updated 2025 GV80 and the new GV80 Coupe during a special ceremony at the Seoul Wave Arts Center on Monday, April 22, 2024. The event, which marked the mid-cycle refresh (facelift) of the models, was covered by Mousub Shashaa, the founder of the Arab GT website.
It’s noteworthy that the GV80, Genesis’s inaugural SUV, has amassed impressive sales, topping 170,000 units in the global luxury SUV market since its debut in January 2020. The refreshed model retains its iconic design elements while introducing a completely revamped interior. This upgrade enhances the passenger experience with cutting-edge features aimed at maximizing comfort and safety.
The coupe version of the GV80, dubbed the 2025 GV80 Coupe, was also showcased for the first time during the event, following its concept reveal last April. The GV80 Coupe has been well-received internationally for its dynamic design and sporty, high-tech interior. It is powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine complemented by a 48-volt electric supercharger (e-S/C).
Powertrain :
The 2025 GV80 offers two engine options: a 2.5 turbo with 304 horsepower and a 3.5 turbo with 380 horsepower. The GV80 Coupe includes a 3.5 turbo engine enhanced with a 48V electric supercharger, producing 415 horsepower. Both models feature advanced driving technologies like Preview Electronic Control Suspension and a second-generation Engine Mounting Control Unit to enhance stability and comfort by adjusting to road conditions and reducing vibrations.
Design
The 2025 GV80 SUV showcases a luxurious and robust redesign, featuring a sleek Two-Line Crest Grille and MLA technology-enhanced headlamps at the front. The SUV’s athletic appeal is boosted by large air intakes, a wide skid plate, and an elegant Guilloché-patterned emblem. Along the sides, a new chrome trim extends, enhancing the powerful presence, complemented by redesigned 20-inch and 22-inch wheels. At the rear, hidden muffler tips and a V-shape chrome trim mirror the front design, while a bold body-colored line adds stability. The SUV offers 11 exterior colors, including the new Storr Green.
The 2025 GV80 Coupe merges SUV practicality with coupe sleekness, emphasizing Genesis’ focus on high-performance vehicles with emotional appeal. It features a bold design with MLA-powered LED headlamps and a double-layered Crest Grille. Performance enhancements include an expanded air intake and Active Air Flap for better engine cooling. The silhouette is defined by an arch-shaped Parabolic Line and a sloping roofline, accompanied by exclusive 20- and 22-inch wheels and a sporty rear spoiler. It is available in 12 colors, including the exclusive Bering Blue.

The 2025 GV80 ‘s interior elevates luxury driving with Genesis’ “Beauty of White Space” concept, merging Korean aesthetics with advanced technology. It features a 27-inch OLED display integrating vehicle systems and a touch-based HVAC for ease of use. Upgrades include a crystal-like Shift By Wire system, Nappa leather and wood finishes, and enhanced functionalities like a redesigned wireless charging tray and enlarged cup holder. Available in five colors, including new Earth Brown, Bordeaux Brown, and Glacier White, the interior design emphasizes sophistication and practicality.
The 2025 GV80 Coupe’s interior combines sporty elegance with practical design features. It includes a two-tone D-cut steering wheel, unique carbon garnish, and coupe-exclusive seat patterns and stitching, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Metal accents on the pedals prevent slipping and underscore its high-performance nature. The coupe also features space-optimizing designs like reclining rear seats and a foldable luggage shelf, along with six exclusive interior packages for customization.
