The 2024 Shelby Super Snake was just unveiled, boasting a supercharged Mustang engine that cranks out a whopping 830 horsepower. Only 250 units of this powerhouse will be crafted globally.
Shelby has introduced its latest creation, the first to be based on Ford Mustang’s seventh generation. Riding on the S650 platform, the new Shelby model enhances performance significantly, surpassing even the previous Shelby GT500.
The new Super Snake offers two engine choices:
- A 5-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8 with 480 horsepower.
- A 5-liter Coyote V8 enhanced by a Whipple supercharger, delivering 830 horsepower.
Whichever option you pick, Shelby equips this modern sports car with a revamped suspension for sharper handling, a free-flowing Borla exhaust, robust brakes, and enhanced cooling to fully leverage the engine’s capabilities. Opting for the standard 6-speed gearbox also includes a short-throw shifter and a one-piece driveshaft.
From the exterior, the car’s standout feature is its 20-inch magnesium wheels, wrapped in summer tires and shedding about 4 kilograms per wheel, totaling a 16-kilogram reduction across all four.
But the pursuit of lightness doesn’t end there. The Super Snake boasts an aluminum hood, broadened front fenders, and a carbon fiber bumper. Selecting the fastback model adds a sizable carbon fiber rear spoiler.

As mentioned earlier, Shelby is gearing up to produce 250 of these formidable vehicles starting in mid-summer 2024, God willing. Each car comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, while Ford’s original powertrain warranty remains effective.
