The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 stands out with two distinct design concepts—Red Ambience and White Ambience—allowing buyers to choose a color scheme that best suits their taste. No matter the choice, each version comes with a Maybach-specific illuminated grille and a three-dimensional Mercedes-Benz star prominently displayed on the hood. The exterior is further accentuated by rose gold accents in the headlights and a chrome-plated windshield frame.
Additionally, the convertible roof of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is adorned with a subtle anthracite-hued pattern of small Maybach logos. This pattern can also be applied to the hood as an option, where the panel is meticulously hand-polished before the design is imprinted onto the metal. Other notable exterior upgrades include Maybach-specific taillights, a new chrome-trimmed rear fascia, and a redesigned diffuser with exclusive exhaust tips.

Inside the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680, luxury takes center stage. The interior is lavishly appointed with crystal white Nappa leather, covering the door panels, center console, and seats. The space behind the seats, typically reserved for rear passengers, is also wrapped in Nappa leather, enhancing the overall sense of luxury. The interior is further distinguished by a custom steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and stainless steel door sills.
Mechanical Specifications
Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 shares its mechanical foundation with the AMG SL63, featuring the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 577 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, delivering power to all four wheels. The vehicle comes standard with rear-axle steering and a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is widely used in Mercedes-Benz models.
The focus of the mechanical upgrades in the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is on enhancing comfort. The car benefits from increased sound insulation, a quieter exhaust system, a softer suspension setup, and gentler engine mounts, ensuring a smooth and serene driving experience.
Mercedes claims that this luxury convertible can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds, making it only slightly slower than the AMG SL63. The top speed is electronically limited to 160 mph (257 km/h), balancing performance with safety.
