The first official images of the 2026 Kia EV4 have been revealed, marking the arrival of this electric vehicle ahead of its official debut on the roads.
It has been over a year since Kia introduced the EV4 concept, and now, the production-ready model destined for the market has finally been unveiled.
Design and Variants
The new Kia EV4 maintains a design strikingly similar to the original concept, with only a few visible adjustments, such as conventional side mirrors and flush door handles. The images showcase two distinct body styles—a sedan and a hatchback—both retaining the futuristic aesthetic of the prototype. However, the interior layout remains under wraps for now.
This next-generation electric vehicle is set to make its global debut later this month, at which point full technical specifications will be announced.
Exterior Features
Both body styles share the same front-end design, with their primary difference being in the rear styling. The GT-Line variant, featured in these images, represents the sportiest trim, riding on 19-inch wheels.
The EV4 sedan exhibits an elongated rear overhang, which is somewhat uncommon for a vehicle built on a dedicated EV platform. In contrast, the hatchback presents a more balanced look, though neither follows traditional design norms. While the sedan version appears bolder and more aggressive, the hatchback also embraces a futuristic character that aligns with the original concept. Whether the design resonates with audiences or not, it is undeniably a refreshing departure from the crossover-dominated market. If Hyundai introduces a counterpart—potentially named the Ioniq 4 (yet to be confirmed)—it will be interesting to see how it compares.
Upcoming Debut and Market Positioning
The official unveiling of the Kia EV4 will take place on February 24, 2025, at Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, where its bold and unconventional styling will be highlighted. Detailed technical specifications will be disclosed shortly after, on February 27.
Though its entry into the U.S. market has yet to be officially confirmed, the EV4 is expected to be positioned above the smaller EV3 crossover in Kia’s expanding EV lineup.
In addition to the EV4, Kia will also be launching a more affordable model, the EV2, at the same event. For those keeping track, Kia has committed to producing 14 fully electric vehicles by 2027, reinforcing its push toward an electrified future.
