Mercedes-Benz is stepping boldly into the future with the reveal of the 2026 GLC EV, an all-electric SUV that combines German strength with cutting-edge innovation. Our colleague Karim Deeb traveled to Germany to cover this global launch, where Mercedes showed the world that the luxury EV game is about to get even more competitive. Positioned directly against the BMW iX3 and Porsche Macan Electric, the new GLC EV is out to prove it can take on the best.
Power Meets Choice
Mercedes didn’t hold back with performance. The GLC EV comes in two flavors, giving drivers the option to pick the version that fits their lifestyle best.
GLC 300+ (Rear-Wheel Drive, Single Motor):
Packs 369 horsepower and 504 Nm of torque, pushing the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just under six seconds.
GLC 400 4MATIC (All-Wheel Drive, Dual Motors):
Turns up the excitement with 483 horsepower and 808 Nm of torque, blasting from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds.
With numbers like these, the GLC EV doesn’t just join the segment — it becomes one of the quickest and most powerful electric SUVs you can buy.
Range That Inspires Confidence
No EV story is complete without range, and Mercedes delivers here too. Thanks to a 94 kWh battery and advanced 800-volt architecture, the GLC EV can travel up to 400 miles (644 km) on the WLTP cycle, or about 300 miles (483 km) by EPA standards. Whether it’s city commuting or a long road trip, this SUV is ready for the journey.
Charging That Keeps Up With You
One of the standout features is its lightning-fast charging. With up to 330 kW of DC fast charging, the GLC EV can jump from 10% to 80% battery in just 24 minutes. That’s a coffee break — not an overnight wait — making long-distance travel far more practical and stress-free.
A Cabin Designed for Tomorrow
Step inside, and the future greets you head-on. The optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen stretches across the entire dashboard, blending driving data, entertainment, and interactivity in one sweeping digital experience. Add in mood-shifting ambient lighting and sustainable materials that replace traditional leather, and the GLC EV’s interior feels every bit as modern and responsible as it does luxurious.
Smarter, Smoother Driving
Built on Mercedes’ dedicated MB.EA electric platform, the GLC EV is packed with driving tech to keep every ride smooth and confident. The Airmatic air suspension automatically adapts to changing road surfaces, while available rear-wheel steering makes the SUV agile in tight city streets yet stable at high speeds. It’s the kind of technology that quietly works in the background, making every drive effortless.
Expected Pricing
Mercedes hasn’t shared official pricing yet, but estimates place the 2026 GLC EV between $60,000 and $72,000 (about 225,000–270,000 Saudi Riyals). Considering the performance, technology, and luxury on offer, it’s positioned as a serious contender in the electric SUV market.
The Bottom Line
The 2026 Mercedes GLC EV isn’t just another electric SUV — it’s a statement. With its mix of thrilling performance, long-distance range, rapid charging, and a cabin that feels like it’s straight from the future, this SUV shows how Mercedes is blending tradition with innovation. It’s not just about keeping up with rivals — it’s about setting the pace.
