The First Drage Race Between The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 And Corvette C8

Today we present the first legal speed race held on a track between the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8  and the most powerful Ford production car in history so far the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.

Before talking about the result of this speed challenge between two of the most important new American sports cars, we would like to remind you, dear Arab GT followers, that our colleague Suhaib Shashaa has previously test-driven the all-new Mustang Shelby GT500 muscle car in America, in an episode of  Special Coverage program. In addition to this, our team was present at the global event that took place last year when the new generation Corvette was introduced.

The video shows several challenges between t Shelby GT500 and Corvette C8, but of course, the result is known even before watching the video, because the power difference between the two cars exceeds 250 hp in Shelby’s favor, but at the same time, the performance of the basic version of Chevrolet Corvette seems amazing without any doubt.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 starts with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 aluminum-alloy engine built by hand, and the team also installed a 2.65-liter supercharger. The engine generates 740 hp and 847 N.m of torque, and it is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is capable of shifts in under 100 milliseconds – markedly faster than any manual gearbox

The production of the all-new eighth-generation Corvette started last February, and the car is powered by a naturally aspirated  6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine, that generates 490 hp (497 PS) and 630 Nm of torque. When ordering the sports car with the Z51 package, this engine can generate a power of 495 hp (502 PS) and 637 Nm of torque
