As a point of recall, the Mazda CX5 2024 , a compact crossover SUV, has been in production since 2012. It stands out as the first Mazda model to adopt the “Kodo” design language, marking a significant milestone. Furthermore, it takes the lead in fully embracing the integrated suite of technologies termed Skyactiv. This encompasses a well-balanced fusion of a lightweight yet robust platform and an assortment of engines and transmissions, all intricately engineered to achieve reduced emissions and heightened fuel efficiency.

Mazda CX5 2024 Interior

CX-5’s interior introduces elevated comfort and style upgrades in contrast to the SE-L model it originates from. Particularly, notable additions comprise a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a distinct black half leatherette and suede seat trim. Echoing its distinctive exterior, the cabin showcases black dashboard and door inserts, accentuated by vibrant red stitching across elements like seats, steering wheel, knee pads, gearshift surround, armrest, and door panels.

In terms of technological offerings, Mazda Connect 4 incorporates an additional feature – wireless Apple CarPlay integration5 for iPhones, along with Android Auto 5 compatibility. This allows users to conveniently access maps, playlists, and contacts, all of which can be displayed on the substantial 10.25-inch touch screen center display. The available 10-speaker Bose audio system adds to the experience, ensuring the delivery of clear and crisp music. With a distinctive speaker design and arrangement, this system guarantees an optimal listening experience within the cabin.

Powertrain

The standard four-cylinder engine in the CX-5, delivering 187 horsepower, offers impressive throttle response for city driving and quick starts. This creates a perception of higher acceleration than the actual numbers suggest. However, during scenarios like passing or freeway merging, the engine might feel less powerful. In contrast, the turbocharged 256-horsepower variant we assessed demonstrated significantly swifter acceleration. Both engines are matched with a responsive six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive for enhanced performance.
