In this report, we will provide a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the 2023 GMC Terrain. This compact American luxury crossover SUV features a front engine and utilizes the D2XX chassis developed by General Motors. It is worth noting that my car, the Chevrolet Equinox 2023, and the Buick Envision 2023 are also based on the same platform.

Before discussing the pricing of the new Terrain and delving into the available engine options in Middle Eastern markets, it is important to note that the GMC Terrain, holds the distinction of being the smallest vehicle in GMC’s lineup. It occupies a lower class in comparison to the GMC Acadia.

The GMC Terrain has undergone two generations, and here is the chronological order:

The first generation was produced from 2010 to 2017, with its debut taking place at the New York Auto Show in April 2009.

The second and current generation was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in 2017 as a 2018 model. This generation is still ongoing, and it was facelifted lately.

Regarding the external dimensions of the Terrain; The car has a length of 4,652 mm, the width of the car measures 1,843 mm, the height of the car is 1,661 mm and the wheelbase spans 2,725 mm.

Moving on to the entertainment and information system of the 2023 GMC Terrain. The car is equipped with a 7-inch screen as standard, while the higher versions feature an upgraded 8-inch screen. These screens offer seamless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing for convenient smartphone integration. Additionally, the system includes a Wi-Fi hotspot feature for enhanced connectivity.

Mechanical Specifications:

The 2023 GMC Terrain offers two engine options:

  1. A 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that delivers 170 horsepower and 275 Newton meters of torque. This engine is paired with a front-wheel drive system.
  2. A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 252 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque. This engine is equipped with a four-wheel drive system and boasts a top speed of 218 km/h.

Both engine options are coupled with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
