2025 Toyota GR Supra Review

2025 Toyota GR Supra Review

Few names in the sports car world carry the emotional weight of the Toyota GR Supra MK5. Its return revived a Japanese legend that had been absent for 17 long years, coming back louder, sharper, and more controversial than anyone expected. Just as enthusiasts were fully embracing the samurai’s comeback, Toyota delivered a surprise that hit hard: production is coming to an end.

This review is not just about numbers and specs. It’s a farewell. Through an emotional drive led by Karim Deeb, we say goodbye to a car that reignited passion, divided opinions, and may very well be remembered as a future icon.

Exterior Design

The GR Supra MK5 looks every bit like a modern performance car with a deep respect for its heritage. Long hood, short rear, muscular fenders, and dramatic curves give it an aggressive stance that still turns heads years after launch.

It’s unapologetically bold. Some love the exaggerated lines, others criticize them, but no one mistakes the Supra for anything else. In a world of increasingly generic designs, the MK5 stands out — and that alone gives it character.

2025 Toyota GR Supra Interior

Step inside, and the BMW influence is immediately clear — but not in a bad way. The cabin feels solid, premium, and driver-focused, prioritizing functionality over theatrics.

You get an 8.8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, electrically adjustable sport seats in leather or Alcantara, and a full suite of safety systems including radar cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane assist.

That said, the interior isn’t perfect. Cupholder placement can be annoying while driving, the electronic handbrake disappoints drift purists who miss a traditional manual lever, and the absence of a 360-degree camera feels like a missed opportunity at this price point.

Mechanical Specifications

This is where the Supra MK5 truly earns its reputation. Under the hood lies a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, developed through Toyota’s strategic partnership with BMW. The result is a powertrain that delivers both excitement and refinement.

The engine produces 382 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a quick-shifting 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels, launching the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds — often quicker in real-world conditions. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Built alongside the BMW Z4 in Austria, the Supra distinguishes itself with a stiffer setup and a fixed roof, giving it a more focused and aggressive driving character. On track, especially at Emirates Motorplex in Umm Al Quwain, the car feels balanced, confident, and far more capable than many rivals in its price range.

2025 Toyota GR Supra Price

One of the Supra MK5’s strongest arguments has always been its value. With an approximate price of 240,000 AED (around $65,350 or 245,060 SAR), it delivers performance that competes with cars costing significantly more. It’s a true daily-usable sports car that doesn’t demand supercar money.
