2021 BMW i8 ; In 2013, BMW unveiled the i8 hybrid sports car as a prototype under the (i) project for future hybrid vehicles. In 2014, BMW introduced the production version for sale, making it the second offering in this category after the BMW i3. The car features two motors: an electric motor with 6 lithium-ion batteries powering the front wheels, and a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine for the rear wheels. On June 11, 2020, the final i8 completed its production run. A total of 20,465 units were manufactured, including 16,581 coupés and 3,884 roadsters.

Both models have a electronically capped top speed of 250 km/h.
