American company Miami Armored, in collaboration with Canadian armored vehicle specialist Inkas, has transformed the Lexus LX 700 into a heavily armored luxury SUV capable of withstanding gunfire and even grenade explosions.

This armored version of the Lexus LX 700 can resist 7.62 mm rounds, including ammunition commonly used in AK-47 rifles.
The SUV is also engineered to survive the explosion of two hand grenades thanks to a full 360 degree ballistic protection system surrounding the vehicle.
The upgrades go beyond reinforced body panels. The companies fitted all windows with bullet resistant glass and added protective shielding for the fuel tank, engine bay, and battery pack.
According to armored vehicle specialists, protecting only the cabin is not enough if attackers can disable the vehicle by targeting the engine or fuel system.
Additional modifications include a reinforced rear partition, upgraded door hinges, and run-flat tires capable of continuing to drive after sustaining damage during an attack.
The SUV also features an overlapping armor system designed to eliminate gaps that bullets could penetrate through.
A wide range of optional equipment is available, including night vision cameras, a siren and loudspeaker system, front and rear LED strobe lights, reinforced bumpers, an oxygen filtration system, radiator protection, and even an emergency escape hatch in the roof.
The company claims that the additional armor weight does not significantly impact the SUV’s driving performance, an important factor for high-profile clients seeking both luxury and security.
Mechanically, the Lexus LX 700 retains its hybrid powertrain featuring a 3.5 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine producing 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.
The Japanese luxury SUV maintains a commanding road presence, and while this blacked-out version may appear like a regular luxury vehicle at first glance, it hides extensive protection upgrades beneath its bodywork designed to safeguard its passengers from serious threats.
