Every year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed brings together some of the world’s most extreme performance machines for its famous 1.16 mile hill climb. From legendary race cars to cutting edge electric prototypes and purpose built track monsters, the 2026 event once again delivered an intense battle against the clock.
Electric power dominated this year’s leaderboard, with Ford’s Super Mustang Mach E claiming the fastest time of the event. The heavily modified EV completed the hill climb in just 41.98 seconds, finishing around half a second ahead of the second placed Formula 4 Gen4. It also outpaced every combustion powered competitor by more than four seconds, highlighting the growing performance advantage of electric race cars.
Despite Ford’s impressive victory, the Super Mustang Mach E still fell short of the all time Goodwood hill climb record. That benchmark remains with the all electric McMurtry Spéirling, which set an astonishing 39.08 second run in a previous edition of the festival.

The results once again prove that Goodwood remains one of the best places to witness the fastest and most exciting performance cars in the world, with electric technology continuing to redefine what is possible on one of motorsport’s most iconic hill climbs.
