The 2025 Kia EV6 has undergone a significant facelift, introducing notable enhancements both inside and out.
The facelift includes a larger battery and increased power for the high-performance EV6 GT model. Kia plans to reveal the pricing details before the vehicle’s global launch in the first half of 2025.

Introduction of the 2025 Kia EV6
The refreshed EV6 debuted in Kia’s home market of Korea earlier this year and was showcased for the U.S. audience at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show. Alongside the EV6, Kia unveiled the updated EV9 GT high-performance SUV.
Scheduled for U.S. release in the first half of 2025, the updated EV6 will enter the market as a 2025 model. Production will take place at Kia’s facility in Georgia. It’s worth recalling that the original EV6 marked Kia’s entry into the all-electric vehicle segment in 2022, followed by the high-performance EV6 GT in 2023. Let’s explore the enhancements featured in the 2025 EV6 and its GT version.
Exterior Updates
The updated exterior boasts new headlights with Kia’s signature “Star Map” design, which mirrors the styling of the 2025 EV9 and the 2025 Kia K5 sedan. At the rear, changes are more subtle, with a revised design for the taillight’s curved light strip.

Interior Upgrades
Inside, Kia has introduced a fresh steering wheel design and dual 12.3-inch digital displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The center console has also been reimagined. To enhance cabin comfort, Kia improved sound insulation and reduced electric motor noise, providing a quieter ride experience.
Powertrain Enhancements
The 2025 EV6 now features a revamped battery lineup. The previous 77.4-kWh battery has been replaced with a standard 63-kWh unit, while an optional 84-kWh battery offers extended range. Kia estimates that the 84-kWh battery will deliver up to 319 miles (513 km) of range with rear-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive reduces the range slightly.
- 63-kWh Battery: Paired with a single rear motor delivering 167 horsepower.
- 84-kWh Battery: Available with a single rear motor producing 225 horsepower or a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration with 320 horsepower.
Performance of the 2025 EV6 GT
The high-performance EV6 GT now comes standard with the 84-kWh battery and dual motors generating 601 horsepower—a 25-horsepower boost over the previous model. In GT mode, the system temporarily increases output to 641 horsepower. The vehicle maintains an all-wheel-drive setup.
A new addition is Kia’s Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), which replicates the sensation of gear changes through the motor’s software, complemented by synthetic engine sounds.
While performance stats are pending, the updated EV6 GT boasts a towing capacity of 1,225 kilograms (2,700 pounds), up from 1,043 kilograms (2,300 pounds). The system can detect trailer weight and adjust the range estimate accordingly.
Charging and Technology
All 2025 EV6 models feature 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging via DC fast chargers. The latest update includes a standard NACS connector, granting access to Tesla’s extensive DC fast charging network.
The 2025 Kia EV6 represents a significant step forward in design, performance, and technology, solidifying its position in the competitive EV market.
