2027 Lexus IS Refuses to Fade Away With a New Limited Edition
The Lexus IS is not ready to disappear just yet. Despite ongoing rumors about the future of the long running Japanese sports sedan, Lexus is keeping it alive for the 2027 model year with a new limited edition version based on the IS 350 F Sport.
Still competing with established rivals such as the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class, the IS continues to appeal to drivers who prefer a more traditional sports sedan formula. The new Special Appearance Package adds a distinctive look and extra equipment while preserving the naturally aspirated V6 engine that has become increasingly rare in this segment.
Only 350 Cars Will Be Built
Lexus will produce just 350 examples of the special edition for the U.S. market, making it one of the more exclusive versions of the current IS.
The package is based on the IS 350 F Sport and introduces a new Envious Green exterior color, giving the sedan a sharper and more distinctive appearance. It also receives 19 inch BBS aluminum wheels, Triple Beam LED headlights, a sunroof, and an integrated rear spoiler.
Inside, Lexus carries the green theme into the cabin with matching stitching on the NuLuxe trimmed seats. A Mark Levinson premium audio system and a power rear sunshade are also included.
The standard Technology Package adds features such as Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Alert.
A Naturally Aspirated V6 Still Lives Under the Hood
One of the biggest reasons the IS 350 continues to stand out is its engine.
While many of its rivals have moved toward smaller turbocharged units, the 2027 Lexus IS 350 F Sport keeps its naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6. It produces 311 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
Rear wheel drive models use an eight speed automatic transmission, while all wheel drive versions are paired with a six speed automatic.
The special edition also comes standard with the Handling Package, which adds adaptive suspension and multiple driving modes. Rear wheel drive models also benefit from a Torsen limited slip differential.
For enthusiasts who still appreciate a naturally aspirated engine and a more traditional rear wheel drive sedan setup, the formula remains familiar and increasingly uncommon.
2027 Lexus IS Pricing
Lexus has not announced official pricing for the 2027 model yet. More details are expected closer to its arrival in showrooms during the final quarter of the year.
For comparison, the 2026 Lexus IS starts at $61,485 for the rear wheel drive version, equivalent to around SAR 230,568. The all wheel drive model starts at $63,095, or approximately SAR 236,606.

The survival of the Lexus IS 350 is good news for anyone who still values the character of a naturally aspirated V6.
With the V8 powered IS 500 no longer part of the lineup, the IS 350 has become an even more important option for buyers who want a luxury sports sedan without immediately moving to a smaller turbocharged engine.
Yes, the current IS is based on a generation that has been around for years, but Lexus continues to refine the formula rather than abandon it. The BBS wheels, unique color, additional technology, and limited production run give this version enough personality to stand out.
The bigger question is whether that is enough to tempt buyers away from newer rivals.
