Since 2020, Toyota has quietly given Suzuki a golden shortcut into the competitive SUV world through one very familiar model: the Suzuki Across. At its core, the Across has always been a rebadged Toyota RAV4, complete with Toyota’s proven hybrid technology—and for 2026, that reality is more obvious than ever.
Suzuki has now revealed the 2026 Suzuki Across for the European market, and there’s no attempt to hide its origins. This is essentially a RAV4 wearing a Suzuki badge, offering the same reliability, the same plug-in hybrid performance, and almost the same design—just aimed at Suzuki buyers who want Toyota engineering through a different showroom door.
No More Disguise on the Outside
Earlier versions of the Across tried, at least visually, to stand apart by borrowing design elements from the Toyota Wildlander, the China-market cousin of the Highlander. For 2026, Suzuki has stopped pretending. The new Across fully adopts the Toyota RAV4 Adventure look, with only the smallest tweaks.
Changes are minimal but clear:
A slightly revised front grille to accommodate Suzuki’s large emblem
Full compatibility with genuine Toyota RAV4 accessories—they bolt right on
An overall length of 4,600 mm, riding on 18-inch dark gray alloy wheels

Step Inside and It’s Pure Toyota
Open the door, and any remaining illusion disappears. The interior of the 2026 Suzuki Across is unmistakably Toyota—from the layout to the materials to the screens. The only reminder you’re not in a RAV4 is the Suzuki logo on the steering wheel.
Tech-wise, it’s fully loaded:
12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
12.9-inch central infotainment display
Head-Up Display
Wireless phone charging, five USB-C ports, and a full suite of driver-assistance systems

Plug-in Hybrid Power That Means Business
Suzuki offers the 2026 Across exclusively with Toyota’s strongest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup:
A 2.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors
Combined output of 300 horsepower (304 PS)
All-wheel drive via Toyota’s E-Four system and an E-CVT gearbox
0–100 km/h in 6.1 seconds—slightly slower on paper than the RAV4’s claimed 5.8 seconds
A 22.7 kWh battery delivering up to 100 km of electric-only range, without burning a drop of fuel

Same Name, Different Cars—Depending on Where You Live
Here’s where things get confusing. While Europe gets a Suzuki Across based on the Toyota RAV4, other markets—such as Seychelles—sell a completely different vehicle under the same Across name, this time based on the smaller Maruti Vitara platform. Same badge, totally different car. Suzuki clearly isn’t worried about keeping things simple.
So the question remains: if you were choosing between a Toyota RAV4 and the virtually identical 2026 Suzuki Across, which one would you pick? And do you see this as smart collaboration—or badge engineering taken a step too far?
