The solid-state battery revolution didn’t begin with a car. It began on two wheels. At CES 2026, Verge Motorcycles unveiled the TS Pro as the world’s first production electric motorcycle powered by a fully solid-state battery, and in doing so, rewrote many of the rules surrounding electric mobility.
For years, solid-state batteries have been talked about as a future solution—something automakers would eventually adopt once the technology matured. Verge skipped the waiting game. Instead of roadmaps and promises, it put solid-state technology straight into production, delivering a motorcycle designed to eliminate the two biggest pain points of electric vehicles: limited range and long charging times.
The Verge TS Pro is powered by a solid-state battery developed in collaboration with Donut Lab, and the numbers are hard to ignore. Buyers can choose between two battery options: a 20.2 kWh pack offering up to 349 kilometers of range, or a larger 33.3 kWh version that pushes range to an astonishing 595 kilometers, or 370 miles, on a single charge. Charging is equally disruptive. Using a 200 kW fast charger, the bike can regain nearly 300 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes—about the time it takes to grab a coffee and get back on the road.
What makes this achievement even more striking is that the performance doesn’t take a back seat to efficiency. The TS Pro produces 137 horsepower and an eye-opening 998 Nm of torque—figures that rival, and in some cases surpass, those of high-performance sports cars. Acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, delivering instant, relentless thrust that fundamentally changes what riders can expect from an electric motorcycle.
Despite the groundbreaking battery technology, Verge has kept pricing surprisingly grounded. The TS Pro starts at $29,900, and notably, switching to solid-state battery technology does not increase the price. That decision alone sends a clear message about where Verge sees the future of electric performance heading.
Longevity and safety are just as important as speed and range. Donut Lab says the solid-state battery is designed to withstand up to 100,000 charging cycles—an amount that would theoretically translate into centuries of daily use. The battery is also non-flammable, even if damaged, and maintains more than 99% efficiency across extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 100°C, making it suitable for real-world riding conditions rather than controlled environments.
Taken as a whole, the Verge TS Pro feels less like a new motorcycle and more like a turning point. When an electric bike delivers nearly 1,000 Nm of instant torque, offers a range that rivals—or exceeds—many gasoline-powered vehicles, and charges faster than most fuel stops, the debate around electric performance begins to shift. This isn’t an experiment or a tech demo. It’s a rolling statement that solid-state batteries are no longer a distant promise—they’re ready for the street.
