Toyota is set to make a splash at the 2024 SEMA Show with two innovative concept vehicles that underscore the brand’s creativity and the versatility of Toyota SUVs. One of these striking concepts is the Land Cruiser Rox, a convertible version of the Prado. It boasts a removable roof and a range of rugged off-road enhancements. Meanwhile, the 4Runner TRD Surf introduces a daring two-door design paired with a convertible roof, capturing the essence of adventure.
Staying true to its tradition of making a mark at SEMA, the Japanese automaker has announced that these two impressive Toyota SUVs will headline the renowned Las Vegas event, taking place from November 5 to November 8, 2024. The 2025 Prado Convertible and the 2025 Toyota 4Runner Two-Door Convertible are among the stars of the show, and enthusiasts can expect even more unique models to be showcased.
Prado Convertible Concept
The Land Cruiser Rox Convertible, designed by Calty Design, features significant modifications. The C-pillars and D-pillars of the new 2025 Toyota Prado were removed and replaced with a convertible top. To ensure structural rigidity, reinforcements were added, compensating for the absence of the pillars. This Toyota SUV is also equipped with half doors, extended fenders, heavy-duty off-road tires, a light bar, and rugged upgrades such as steel bumpers and reinforced skid plates. A functional half tailgate with an exterior-mounted spare tire makes it practical for off-road adventures.
4Runner Convertible Concept
The Toyota 4Runner TRD Surf Concept, on the other hand, is inspired by the 1980s Southern California beach scene. This Toyota SUV features a two-door configuration, and the rear doors and upper portion of the roof have been eliminated to create an open rear storage tub. This storage area includes a skid plate and designated space for surfboards, making it ideal for beachgoers and adventure seekers. The SUV’s design is highlighted by a dual-tone ocean-themed paint job with turquoise accents, off-road wheels, and a slightly raised suspension.
Under the hood, the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 278 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This Toyota SUV also features a permanent four-wheel-drive system and a custom exhaust for a deeper, more aggressive sound.
Both the Land Cruiser Rox and 4Runner TRD Surf will be displayed at the Toyota stand during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, giving visitors a firsthand look at the future of adventurous and stylish off-road Toyota SUVs.
