A recent behind the scenes tour of the Italian marque’s factory revealed that the titanium bolts used to build just one Pagani cost more than a brand new Porsche 911 Carrera.

Every Pagani is assembled using around 2,000 custom titanium bolts, with each one costing approximately $80. That brings the total value of the bolts alone to roughly $161,300, more than the price of a new Porsche 911 Carrera before options.
Why Does a Single Bolt Cost So Much?
The answer lies in Horacio Pagani’s relentless pursuit of perfection.
Each titanium bolt is laser engraved with the Pagani logo at an astonishing depth of just 2 microns (0.002 mm), making the engraving around 35 times thinner than a human hair.
Even seemingly ordinary components receive extraordinary attention. The engine oil dipstick, for example, is machined from titanium and initially installed only to verify its alignment. It is then removed and laser engraved so the Pagani logo sits perfectly straight once the dipstick is fully tightened.
The steering wheel follows the same philosophy. It begins as a 43 kg solid block of aluminum before being meticulously machined down to just 1.7 kg. An experienced craftsman, reportedly around 80 years old, then spends eight hours hand polishing the finished component to perfection.

These details help explain why models such as the Huayra and Utopia command prices exceeding $3.58 million before taxes or bespoke personalization.
Virtually every component, from wheel bearings and suspension arms to parts hidden beneath the bodywork, is engineered and finished with the same level of care as a museum quality work of art rather than a conventional automotive component.
