Genesis has sent shockwaves through the performance world with the global debut of the Magma GT Concept—a striking prototype that announces, without hesitation, a brand-new era for the Korean luxury brand. The reveal took place in Le Castellet in southern France, where our colleague Suhaib Shasha was present on behalf of ArabGT to witness a moment that could redefine Genesis’ future in high-performance motoring.
This isn’t a design exercise meant to sit under exhibition lights. The Magma GT Concept is the blueprint for the next decade of Genesis performance—a bold move away from quiet elegance toward a fusion of luxury and athleticism that refuses compromise.
The Beginning of a New Performance Identity
As the first pure sports car Genesis has ever created, the Magma GT Concept marks the opening chapter of a long-term strategy that aims to establish the brand in the realm of GT racing. It reflects a performance philosophy centered on balance, precision, and fluidity, offering a fresh perspective on what next-generation high-performance cars should be.
Genesis’ Chief Creative Officer, Luc Donckerwolke, described the concept as “the peak of our performance vision—an approach that values balance as much as power. It’s a car that becomes one with its driver, remaining composed even when pushed hard, and every detail was crafted with a single mission: to deliver strong performance with absolute smoothness.”
He added, “The Magma GT isn’t just faster than previous Genesis models—it represents the most refined expression of Genesis performance yet.”
A Design Drawn Straight from the Track
One look at the Magma GT and it’s clear the car was shaped with racing in mind. Genesis didn’t rely on dramatic styling alone—it engineered the body with a focus on aerodynamic efficiency, stability, and race-car responsiveness.
Some standout features include a sharply lowered nose, a sweeping roofline, wide GT-inspired rear fenders, and a bold boat-tail rear section that enhances stability. Aerodynamic fins integrated into the headlights and G-Matrix airflow channels across the front create a visual signature while improving performance. Twin-line taillights add a touch of identity that feels unmistakably Genesis.
Every surface, every curve, and every detail is purposeful—crafted to maintain balance and grip even at the limits.
