The Last Bugatti Chiron is Finally Here, and This Time It's Official

Like many Bugatti Veyron cars before it, Bugatti has produced countless special editions and one-offs of the Chiron. However, this era concludes with the unveiling of the last Bugatti Chiron, L’Ultime, named in honor of the late driver Louis Chiron. This final supercar was meticulously hand-assembled at Bugatti’s home in Molsheim, France, showcasing the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and excellence.

The last Bugatti Chiron is based on the Chiron Super Sport model, embodying the pinnacle of Bugatti’s engineering prowess. It features an exterior color scheme inspired by the first Chiron unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The unique paint job gracefully transitions from French Racing Blue to Atlantic Blue, a two-tone theme that is further enhanced with handwritten names of significant events and locations that have been pivotal throughout the Chiron’s eight-year journey.

Bugatti’s photo gallery beautifully captures the inspiration behind the last Bugatti Chiron. The exterior is adorned with the names of notable places:

  • Ehra-Lessien (where it achieved a top speed of 304 mph)
  • Paul Ricard (a key testing location)
  • Geneva (where it made its debut)
  • Chantilly (a frequent showcase venue)
  • Château Saint Jean and Cape Canaveral (where select customers experienced its top speed)

Every detail of the last Bugatti Chiron is meticulously crafted. The number “500” is prominently handwritten on the underside of the rear wing, the rim covers, in front of the rear tires, and engraved on the hood of the W16 8.0-liter quad-turbo engine. The presence of the French flag on the side mirrors pays homage to the car’s French origins.

Bugatti has kept the identity of the owner of the last Bugatti Chiron confidential, though speculation suggests they may be from the United States, as indicated by the orange side marker.

With the production of 500 Chirons, including 99 Mistral roadsters and 40 track-only Bolide versions, the last Bugatti Chiron signifies the end of an era for this iconic supercar. This final edition not only marks the culmination of the Chiron’s production but also stands as a testament to Bugatti’s legacy of innovation, luxury, and unparalleled performance. The conclusion of the Chiron’s journey opens a new chapter for Bugatti as it continues to push the boundaries of automotive excellence.
