Land Rover has finally taken the covers off the fully electric Range Rover, marking a major moment for a nameplate that has spent more than five decades defining luxury SUVs. The big question was always whether going electric would dilute the Range Rover character, but on paper at least, the answer seems to be no. It still promises the comfort, refinement, and off-road ability buyers expect, only now with a fully electric powertrain and an EPA-estimated range of up to 333 miles, or 536 km.
Orders are now open, with prices in the US starting from $138,000, before shipping and delivery fees.
542 HP And 850 Nm Of Torque
Power comes from two electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined 542 hp and 850 Nm of torque. That gives the electric Range Rover the highest torque output of any Range Rover so far, regardless of engine type.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.3 seconds, while a 118.5 kWh battery and 800-volt architecture handle the energy side of things. With a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes, and around 200 km of range can be added in 10 minutes. In North America, it also supports the NACS charging standard for access to Tesla Superchargers.
It Still Wants To Get Dirty
Range Rover has not forgotten the off-road part of the equation. The electric drivetrain allows the traction management system to react to wheel slip in just 50 milliseconds, while the intelligent all-wheel-drive system can vary torque distribution depending on the surface and conditions.
There is also a Single Pedal Mode designed for technical terrain, allowing the driver to tackle climbs of up to 33 degrees and descents of up to 45 degrees using the accelerator pedal alone. Water wading depth stands at 89 cm, so this is clearly more than just a luxury EV built for city streets.
Several Versions Will Be Offered
The Range Rover Electric will be built in Solihull in the UK alongside the petrol and hybrid versions. Buyers will be able to choose between standard and long wheelbase models, with trims including SE, Autobiography, SV, SV Black, and SV Ultra.
A First Edition will also be available with special colors such as Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, and Varesine Blue, along with a more premium interior finished with Ultrafabrics and Kvadrat materials.
The battery and electric motors are covered by an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty.

The Range Rover Electric looks like a serious attempt to bring electric power into the brand without giving up the qualities that made the Range Rover what it is. It is quick, luxurious, capable off-road, and offers a respectable driving range.
The real test will come when owners start using it in demanding conditions, especially in hot climates, on desert terrain, and in markets where charging infrastructure is still developing.
