The 2025 Wrangler V6 lineup has seen a key update with Jeep officially discontinuing the automatic transmission option for this engine. Going forward, the Wrangler V6 will only be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, marking a significant shift for this model.
2025 Wrangler V6 Updates
Although Jeep hasn’t introduced major changes for the 2025 Wrangler V6, a few noteworthy updates are included. Standard features now extend across all trims with power locks and windows, and a fresh military-inspired exterior color has been added. However, the most significant change revolves around the powertrain—the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is now only available with a manual transmission, as the previously offered 8-speed automatic has been removed.
Despite this change for the Wrangler V6, Jeep continues to offer automatic transmission for other variants, including the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the Wrangler 4xe Hybrid, and the powerful 6.4-liter Hemi V8 found in the 392 model.
Interestingly, the 392 Final Edition will not be carried over into the 2025 model year.
In terms of design, the new exterior paint is inspired by the military olive color used back in 1941. Another innovation for the 2025 Wrangler V6 model is an active cabin ventilation system, controlled through a mobile app. This feature improves pre-ventilation before entering the vehicle. Additionally, for those seeking a true open-air experience, the top and doors can be removed to maximize airflow.
