Today, we present the 2025 Flying Spur, the latest luxury offering from British automaker Bentley. This remarkable vehicle immediately claims the title of the most powerful sedan ever to bear the Bentley emblem.
As Bentley prepares to retire its iconic W12 engine, it introduces a more potent V8 hybrid powertrain. This new system made its debut in the Bentley Continental GT Speed 2025, which was previously showcased by our colleague Mousub Shashaa. These same specifications are now under the hood of the new Flying Spur, the star of today’s feature.
Mechanical Details of the Bentley Flying Spur 2025
The 2025 Flying Spur takes the crown as Bentley’s most powerful sedan, featuring a combination of a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 592 horsepower (600 PS), paired with an electric motor and a 25.9 kW battery generating 187 hp (190 PS). Altogether, this hybrid system produces an impressive 771 horsepower (782 PS) and 1,000 Nm of torque.
The newly introduced V8 hybrid engine surpasses the previous W12, delivering a 19% boost in horsepower and an 11% increase in torque compared to its predecessor.
This new hybrid luxury sedan accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds, shaving off half a second from the previous model’s time.
The Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid 2025 can travel up to 76 km (47 miles) on electric power alone at speeds up to 140 km/h (87 mph). However, when both engines are working in tandem, the car boasts a combined range of 829 km (515 miles).
Being a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the Flying Spur 2025 requires 2 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge its 11 kW battery.
Driving Modes
The vehicle offers four specific modes to optimize battery usage:
- Pure EV mode: for all-electric driving,
- Electric Boost mode: for enhanced performance,
- Regenerative Braking mode: to recapture energy,
- Charge mode: which utilizes the gasoline engine for propulsion and recharges the battery.
The 2025 Flying Spur comes equipped with Bentley’s latest Active Chassis technology as standard. This includes adaptive suspension, all-wheel steering, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and a revised ESC program. The car’s weight is distributed with 48.3% at the front and 51.7% at the rear.
Design-wise, the 2025 model retains the signature round Bentley headlights but introduces a distinct Speed grille and a more aggressive front bumper with bold vents.
Customers can opt for the Style Specification package, which adds aerodynamic enhancements in either carbon fiber or a new body color for 2025. Additionally, the Flying Spur offers an impressive palette of 101 exterior colors to choose from.
Interior of the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur
Inside, the 2025 Flying Spur receives a significant technology upgrade thanks to Bentley’s revamped electrical architecture. It now features a fully digital instrument cluster and a center-mounted touchscreen (size not specified) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The system also supports over-the-air updates for features like maps, while the new My Bentley App Studio allows for third-party app downloads, such as for music, games, and navigation.
The standard audio system is a 10-speaker, 650-watt setup, but buyers have the option to upgrade to a 16-speaker, 1,500-watt Bang & Olufsen system or a 19-speaker, 2,200-watt sound system. The laminated glass on the windshield and side windows reduces noise by nine decibels compared to the previous model.
Pricing
While the current 2024 Flying Spur is priced around $217,000 (approximately 813,750 Saudi riyals), Bentley has yet to announce the price for the 2025 model. It is expected, however, to exceed the price of its predecessor. The new Flying Spur is anticipated to arrive at dealerships before the end of the year.
