Tesla Cybertruck Recalls: The Sixth Manufacturing Defect
This latest recall addresses a critical issue with the propulsion converter, which could fail and lead to a complete loss of torque and propulsion. The recall campaign will cover more than 2,400 units of the Cybertruck, which began production in late 2023.

The severity of this recall sets it apart from previous Tesla Cybertruck recalls, as the faulty propulsion converters could cause the vehicle to lose torque entirely, posing a heightened crash risk. Tesla warns that the truck may fail to generate torque when the accelerator pedal is pressed, endangering drivers by increasing the potential for accidents. This defect affects 2,431 units produced between November 2023 and July 2024.

Although it’s unclear how many Tesla Cybertrucks have been manufactured to date, prior Tesla Cybertruck recalls have impacted roughly 27,000 units. Consequently, this new recall is expected to involve only a portion of Tesla’s existing inventory.

Fixing the Defect
To address the issue, Tesla will replace the affected boost converters free of charge for owners. These repairs are part of the ongoing efforts to resolve problems identified in the various Tesla Cybertruck recalls.

The Tesla Cybertruck, first unveiled in November 2019 with a futuristic design, maintained its bold look in the production versions. Despite its striking appearance, the truck entered low-rate production at the end of 2023, with plans for full-scale production in early 2024.

Mechanical Specifications
The base model of the Cybertruck generates 600 horsepower (608 PS) and can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 4.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h.

The high-performance version produces 845 horsepower (857 PS), with acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 209 km/h.
