Saudi Arabia to Host First FIA Extreme H World Cup in Qiddiya

October 2025 will mark a turning point in motorsport history — and Saudi Arabia will be right at the center of it.

Aurora Media Worldwide has been chosen as the official broadcast partner for two milestone events: the Extreme E Desert X Prix – Final Lap, the final chapter of electric off-road racing, and the inaugural FIA Extreme H World Cup, the world’s first hydrogen-powered racing series sanctioned by the FIA.

One Farewell, One New Beginning

On October 4–5, 2025, Qiddiya will roar with the sound of the Desert X Prix, closing five action-packed seasons of Extreme E. Since 2021, the series has proved that electric vehicles aren’t just city commuters — they can take on deserts, glaciers, and some of the harshest terrain on Earth while raising awareness about climate change.

But just a few days later, the spotlight will shift. From October 9–11, the same track in Qiddiya will make history as it hosts the debut of Extreme H — the first FIA-sanctioned hydrogen world cup. Think of it as motorsport’s next leap forward, swapping batteries for hydrogen fuel cells and setting the stage for a new era of clean racing.

A Saudi Production, A Global Audience

Aurora’s Middle East and North Africa team will run production right on site in Qiddiya, working with local crews and regional suppliers. That’s not just about logistics — it’s about lowering emissions, supporting local expertise, and keeping the championship true to its sustainable mission.

Fans won’t miss a moment, with live international broadcasts, highlight reels, digital-first clips, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content planned. Aurora has been with Extreme E since day one, helping bring the story of electric racing to the world. Now, they’re carrying that experience into the hydrogen era.

From Electric Sparks to Hydrogen Power

Extreme E was all about proving that electric technology could survive — and thrive — in extreme conditions. Extreme H now picks up the baton, showing how hydrogen fuel-cell technology can push the boundaries of performance and sustainability on a global stage.

Why Qiddiya, Why Saudi Arabia?

By hosting the first Extreme H World Cup, Saudi Arabia is making a bold statement. Qiddiya — the Kingdom’s entertainment and sports megaproject — isn’t just a venue, it’s a symbol of the country’s ambition to become a global hub for both innovation and sport.

The event also ties directly into Saudi Arabia’s push for a greener economy. Hydrogen racing could spark powerful new partnerships between motorsport and clean energy industries, at a time when the world is looking closely at hydrogen as a serious low-carbon solution.

A New Chapter in Racing

From electric innovation to hydrogen-powered speed, October 2025 will be remembered as the month motorsport took its next step forward — and it will happen in Saudi Arabia. The FIA Extreme H World Cup isn’t just a race; it’s a glimpse into the future of mobility, where technology, sustainability, and adrenaline meet on the same track.

And it all begins in Qiddiya.
