In Morocco, Renault achieved something that once sounded unrealistic. Its experimental Filante Record 2025 traveled over 1,000 kilometers on a single charge—not through a lab trick or slow-motion test, but through real engineering done the smart way.
Instead of chasing bigger and heavier batteries like the rest of the industry, Renault focused on one simple idea: make the car more efficient. And it worked.

The test took place on the UTAC test track, driven at genuine highway speeds, not the kind of crawling pace often used to inflate numbers.

The Clever Part? Nothing Exotic Was Used
What really stands out is that Renault didn’t rely on futuristic batteries or experimental tech. The Filante Record used an 87 kWh battery, the same size found in the everyday Renault Scenic E-Tech.
The secret was attention to detail:
- A body shaped to cut through air with minimal resistance
- Extensive use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber and aluminum
- Special low-friction Michelin tires designed purely for efficiency

The car achieved an energy consumption figure of just 7.8 kWh per 100 km. For perspective, the regular electric Scenic consumes almost 14.1 kWh per 100 km.
That means Renault nearly doubled efficiency without increasing battery size—a reminder that progress doesn’t always come from adding more hardware, but from doing things better.
