BMW dealer AGMC marked a major milestone in Dubai with the regional reveal of the all-new BMW iX3 electric SUV at the Museum of the Future.
The event carried special significance, as it coincided with AGMC’s 50th anniversary as BMW’s partner in the region. It was a celebration of legacy, but also a clear look ahead, with BMW using the moment to highlight its next chapter in electric mobility.
The new iX3 is the first model to ride on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, a foundation the brand sees as the starting point for a new generation of electric vehicles.
Exterior Design
The BMW iX3 xDrive50 arrives with a clean, modern design that keeps things sharp and purposeful. Up front, it carries BMW’s signature kidney grille, which can be specified with Iconic Glow illumination for a more distinctive presence.
The SUV also introduces flush door handles that extend automatically as the driver approaches using BMW Digital Key Plus through a compatible smartphone or smartwatch.
Range, Charging, And Technology
BMW says the new iX3 can travel up to 805 kilometers on a full charge, while DC fast charging support of up to 400 kW gives it serious long-distance potential.
Power comes from BMW’s sixth-generation 800-volt battery architecture, with cylindrical lithium-ion cells integrated into the vehicle floor. The charging experience has also been made smarter, thanks to a charging flap that opens automatically when it senses the driver is preparing to plug in, then closes once the cable is removed.
Inside the tech suite, BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive brings four main control elements together into one connected display and user interface. The iX3 also introduces BMW Heart of Joy, an intelligent control unit created to improve driving dynamics, along with upgraded driver assistance features.
Interior
The cabin follows a driver-focused layout, with an illuminated dashboard and an optional Bicolour Digital White interior theme that gives the space a brighter, more futuristic feel.
A large panoramic glass roof adds to the sense of openness, while heat-insulating tinted glass helps keep cabin temperatures under control and improves comfort for passengers.
Entertainment And Productivity
The iX3 is designed to make use of time spent inside the vehicle, whether for entertainment or work.
When parked, passengers can stream movies and TV shows or play games on the central display. Audio conference calls are available while driving, while video conferencing can be used when the vehicle is stationary.
Electric Powertrain
The BMW iX3 uses the brand’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, combining two 800-volt electric motors, one on the front axle and another on the rear.
Together, the motors manage acceleration and regenerative braking, distributing power according to road conditions and driver demand.
Driver Assistance Systems
The optional Driving Assistant Plus package adds a wider range of support systems. It can help with steering and braking while maintaining speed, lane position, and a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
The system can also respond to changing speed limits and slow the SUV automatically when approaching bends, roundabouts, and intersections.
App Connectivity And Software Updates
Through the My BMW app, owners can check vehicle status, monitor charging progress, and remotely control selected features such as the locks, lights, and windows.
The app also allows control of certain climate and media functions from inside the vehicle. The iX3 further supports over-the-air software updates, allowing BMW to deliver new features and improvements for driver assistance, safety, navigation, and infotainment systems.
