Mercedes AMG One Maintenance Costs Are Brutal
One owner decided to list his ultra rare example at the famous RM Sotheby’s auction this month, with the odometer showing only 185 kilometers (115 miles). But the real shock was not the mileage. It was the first service invoice, known as “Service A,” which came to an astonishing $44,100 USD.
That means the owner effectively paid around $238 for every single kilometer driven.
How Can Routine Service Cost This Much?
The detailed invoice reveals the madness behind the engineering:
- Labor costs alone reached $37,050 after 80 hours of work performed by certified Mercedes technicians charging $463 per hour.
- The small air filter cost $2,195.
- The transmission oil filter was priced at $2,696.
- Even the oil drain plug cost $176.
- Surprisingly, engine oil was one of the “cheaper” items, with 10 bottles costing $652.
In return, the owner received an extended factory warranty valid until February 2028, which is essential for a car carrying one of the most complicated hybrid powertrains ever built.
The Only One in the World in “Reingrün” Green
Exclusivity goes beyond the invoice. This particular Mercedes-AMG One is considered one of the rarest among the 275 units produced worldwide before production ended in late 2023.
The car features a striking custom green paint called “Reingrün,” a color more commonly associated with Lamborghini than Mercedes. This paint option alone cost $32,200, which is more expensive than a brand new Toyota Camry in the United States.
Carbon Fiber Everywhere
The bright green exterior is paired with extensive exposed matte carbon fiber elements, including the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and the roof mounted air intake extending into an aggressive shark fin.
The car also rides on lightweight matte black magnesium wheels with gloss black brake calipers.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in luxurious Magma Grey Nappa leather with green stitching matching the exterior theme. Exposed carbon fiber dominates the cockpit, alongside a premium audio system from Sonus Faber.
A Reminder of the AMG One’s Insane Performance
The Mercedes-AMG One combines a 1.6 liter turbocharged V6 derived directly from Mercedes Formula 1 technology with four electric motors:
- Total output: 1,049 horsepower
- 0 to 100 km/h: 2.9 seconds
- 0 to 200 km/h: 7 seconds
- Top speed: electronically limited to 352 km/h
The car is also delivered with exclusive accessories including custom wireless headphones from Sennheiser, a complete racing harness installation kit, and a special tool for the center lock wheels.
