Maserati has celebrated a century of glory by unveiling a stunning new version of its GT2 Stradale supercar, dressed in a historic racing livery inspired by the legendary 250F. The special edition marks 100 years since the debut of the iconic Trident emblem.
A Special Anniversary Edition of the Maserati GT2 Stradale
In the world of Italian automobiles, greatness is measured not by years but by victories and a legacy that spans generations. This year, Maserati is celebrating a remarkable milestone: 100 years since the introduction of its legendary Trident logo and a full century since its first official participation in motorsport in 1926.
To commemorate the occasion, Maserati chose the famous Monza Circuit during the GT2 European Series to reveal a breathtaking commemorative racing livery for its road-legal GT2 Stradale. The design creates a strong connection between the brand’s glorious past and its modern engineering achievements.
Inspired by the Legendary 250F Formula 1 Champion
The anniversary livery was developed in collaboration with the company’s exclusive customization program, Maserati Fuoriserie. Designers drew inspiration directly from one of the most iconic Formula 1 single-seaters of the 1950s, the legendary Maserati 250F.
For those unfamiliar with its history, the 250F was the machine driven by Argentine legend Juan Manuel Fangio to Formula 1 World Championship titles in 1954 and 1957. It also achieved success with legendary drivers such as Stirling Moss and Maria Teresa de Filippis.
Now, these historic colors return to both Maserati race cars and the road-going GT2 Stradale, celebrating the brand’s racing heritage that dates back to 1926 when the Maserati Tipo 26 won the famous Targa Florio race, becoming the first Maserati to wear the Trident emblem on its hood.
Maserati GT2 Stradale Becomes the Official Safety Car
Beyond showcasing its historic colors, Maserati continues to play a significant role in modern motorsport. Five Maserati GT2 race cars will compete through three different teams in the Pro-Am, Silver, and Master categories.
The spotlight outside the starting grid, however, will belong to the GT2 Stradale, which has been officially selected as the Safety Car for the GT World Challenge Europe championship for the second consecutive year.
Meanwhile, the Maserati MCPura will serve as the championship’s Leading Car.
An Exciting Season Ahead
The new season began at the legendary Monza circuit and will continue with rounds at some of the world’s most famous tracks, including:

- Misano
- Zandvoort
- Portimão
Despite ongoing speculation about Maserati’s future in recent years, this celebration highlights that the Italian marque, under the Stellantis umbrella, is entering a stable new chapter focused on innovation and growth.
