It appears that Toyota’s highly popular 2025 Toyota Camry model is due for a revamp, as demonstrated by the recent sighting of a heavily disguised prototype in public.

Toyota’s eighth-generation Camry, which was released in 2017 for the 2018 model year, is long overdue for a redesign. As is typical with most gasoline-powered vehicles, the ninth-generation Camry will most likely be a significant upgrade of the previous iteration rather than a completely new iteration. Sources suggest that the updated Camry is expected to be revealed later this year, potentially debuting at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2025 model year vehicle.

The heavily camouflaged Toyota Camry prototype reveals little about the upcoming model, but it appears to maintain its predecessor’s proportions and footprint. The redesigned silhouette has a slightly sleeker appearance and features sharper lines, while the headlights and bumper intakes are likely to mirror those found in the new Crown series.

It is anticipated that the upcoming redesign of the Toyota Camry will incorporate design elements from the recently released 2023 Toyota Crown, which was introduced last year as a replacement for the Avalon.

The spy photographer, has revealed that the interior of the prototype was similarly concealed, indicating that the dashboard will likely receive a fresh design. It is highly likely that the upcoming interior modifications to the Toyota Camry will be as substantial as the external ones.

Toyota’s latest infotainment system is expected to feature prominently, complemented by a larger central display. With a completely updated appearance, the Camry will showcase a redesigned steering wheel, dashboard layout, and upgraded materials. The interior overhaul promises to be comprehensive, with the incorporation of design cues from the Crown’s interior styling.

To recall, the present Camry features three powertrain options: a 2.5-liter inline-4 that produces 203 horsepower, a 2.5-liter inline-4 hybrid that produces 208 horsepower with an E-CVT, and a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 301 horsepower. The upcoming model may include a turbocharged engine or utilize the Hybrid Max powertrain from the Crown, which generates 340 horsepower using a 2.4-liter turbo-4 and two electric motors.
