Lamborghini has released a mysterious teaser image and video confirming that an even more extreme version of the upcoming 2027 Urus will make its official debut on July 1. The Italian marque is preparing what could become the most powerful and aggressive Urus ever produced, with output expected to exceed 800 horsepower.
The teaser campaign has already sparked widespread speculation, with Lamborghini hinting at the beginning of a new chapter for its best-selling super SUV.

Performante Appears Ready for a Comeback
Although much of the vehicle remains hidden in shadow, the teaser reveals a bright green SUV featuring an even more aggressive aerodynamic package. The most noticeable elements are two rear spoilers, one mounted above the rear window and another integrated into the tailgate above the taillights.
These styling cues strongly suggest the return of the Urus Performante, a model Lamborghini discontinued in 2024. The new version is expected to return with significant engineering and technology upgrades derived from the company’s latest hybrid developments.
More Than 800 Horsepower Expected
The previous Urus Performante was powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 657 horsepower. Since then, Lamborghini has introduced the Urus SE, which combines the same V8 with a plug-in hybrid system to deliver a combined 789 horsepower.
Industry expectations suggest the new Performante will receive an upgraded version of that hybrid powertrain, pushing total output beyond 800 horsepower for the first time in Urus history. That would place it much closer to Lamborghini’s latest hybrid supercars, including the Temerario and Revuelto.
Engineering Upgrades for Maximum Performance
Beyond the increase in power, the new Urus Performante is expected to receive a comprehensive package of chassis and handling improvements.
The standard air suspension is likely to be replaced with a fixed sports suspension setup to lower the ride height and improve cornering stability. Lamborghini is also expected to recalibrate the rear-wheel steering system for sharper responses while revising the all-wheel-drive system to send more torque to the rear axle, creating a more engaging and performance-focused driving experience.
Weight reduction will also play a key role, with extensive use of carbon fiber for components such as the hood, roof, and aerodynamic elements to offset the additional mass of the hybrid battery system.
Could Lamborghini Chase Another Record?
Before launching the previous Urus Performante, Lamborghini set the production SUV record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a time of 10 minutes and 32.064 seconds.
With the arrival of the new hybrid-powered Performante, many expect Lamborghini to target another record, whether by improving its own Pikes Peak achievement or by setting a new benchmark at Germany’s Nürburgring.
ArabGT Opinion
A Lamborghini Urus Performante producing more than 800 horsepower would be a direct response to high-performance rivals such as the Ferrari Purosangue and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.
For many buyers in the Gulf and Middle East, outright performance alone is not enough. They also value bold styling, emotional engine character, and road presence. While the hybrid system inevitably adds weight, the combination of instant electric torque and significantly higher power output is expected to make the next Urus one of the quickest accelerating SUVs on the market and one of the region’s most desirable luxury performance vehicles.
What do you think? Is a hybrid Urus Performante with more than 800 horsepower the right direction, or would you prefer Lamborghini to keep it purely V8-powered?
