Hyundai Ioniq 9 Black Ink Edition has gained a bold new flagship variant, as Hyundai introduces the 2027 Ioniq 9 Performance Calligraphy Black Ink Edition—a fully loaded three-row electric SUV wrapped in a sleek all-black theme.
Designed to sit at the top of the Ioniq 9 lineup, the new trim combines premium comfort, strong performance, and a more aggressive visual identity. From the outside, Hyundai has given the family EV a stealth-inspired makeover with exclusive black styling details throughout.
The Black Ink Edition is finished exclusively in Abyss Black Pearl and features black chrome front and rear accents, gloss black roof rails, black window trim, black badging, and unique 21-inch Turbine Design wheels finished in black. The result is a cleaner, sharper look that gives the large SUV a more commanding road presence.
Inside, Hyundai continues the dark theme with a fully black cabin, including seats, dashboard controls, steering wheel, screens, and trim. Black aluminum accents add a premium touch, while the overall atmosphere feels far more upscale than a typical family SUV.
But this version is not just about appearance.
As a Performance Calligraphy model, it comes equipped with Hyundai’s top-level features, including:
- Head-up display
- Premium Bose audio system
- Digital rearview mirror
- Panoramic sunroof
- Heated third-row seats
- Heated and ventilated relaxation seats in the first and second rows
- Remote smart parking assist
Power comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 422 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, helping the Ioniq 9 reach 60 mph in around 4.4 seconds.
A 110 kWh battery pack powers the SUV, with an estimated range of around 311 miles, while Hyundai’s 800-volt architecture supports ultra-fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 24 minutes.
Production will take place at Hyundai’s Georgia Metaplant in the United States, with sales expected to begin this summer. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to exceed the current top trim, which starts at around $79,000.
The Black Ink Edition proves Hyundai is no longer just chasing the premium EV segment—it is now confidently shaping it.
