Here Is the First GT3 Cabriolet in Porsche History

Porsche has unveiled the new 911 GT3 S/C, the first GT3 version in 911 history to feature a fully automatic convertible roof. The new model blends the hardcore character of the 911 GT3 with the spirit of the 911 Speedster and 911 S/T, delivering an open-top driving experience focused on pure performance, lightweight engineering, and the joy of a manual gearbox.

Naturally Aspirated Engine and Manual Gearbox for Driving Enthusiasts

The 911 GT3 S/C is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 510 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, with a redline reaching 9,000 rpm. The engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission featuring short gear ratios, giving the driver a more direct and connected feel behind the wheel.

The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 313 km/h. Despite using an advanced exhaust emissions cleaning system, the car still retains the sharp and distinctive sound of its naturally aspirated engine, especially with the roof down.

Lightweight Construction Enhances Performance

Porsche placed a major focus on reducing weight, with the 911 GT3 S/C weighing around 1,497 kg, only about 30 kg more than the previous 911 Speedster. The company borrowed several lightweight components from the 911 S/T, including a carbon fiber hood, doors, and fenders, along with an anti-roll bar and underbody protection panel.

The car also comes standard with Porsche PCCB ceramic brakes, which are more than 20 kg lighter than traditional brakes. Lightweight magnesium wheels are also fitted, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, helping reduce weight by an additional 9 kg.

A Convertible Roof Without Sacrificing Style

Even the convertible roof was carefully designed to maintain the car’s sporty look. Porsche used magnesium supports that give the car a coupe-like roofline when closed, without compromising aerodynamics.

The roof can be opened or closed in 12 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, while an electric wind deflector allows for comfortable driving even at higher speeds and in colder weather.

Exterior Design With Its Own Character

On the outside, the 911 GT3 S/C features a black windshield frame that matches the black fabric roof, along with black accents on the sides. The car also uses modern Matrix LED headlights that allowed Porsche to enlarge the front air intakes and give the front end a cleaner, more elegant appearance.

At the rear, there is an extendable wing fitted with a Gurney flap inspired by the 911 S/T and 911 GT3 Touring, giving the car a distinctive presence even when standing still.

A Driver-Focused Sports Cabin

Inside, Porsche adopted a simple and sporty philosophy, with the car offering only two seats. It comes standard with 4-way adjustable Sports Plus seats, while lightweight carbon fiber bucket seats are available as an option.

Black leather covers most of the cabin, with perforated accents on the seats and steering wheel. The headrests carry the GT3 S/C logo, while the digital instrument cluster includes a Track Screen mode that displays only essential information such as tire pressure, oil temperature, fuel level, and shift timing indicators.

Street Style Package for More Distinction

For those looking for a more unique touch, Porsche offers the optional Street Style package, which adds red exterior graphics, Slate Neo grey wheels, and gold brake calipers with red accents.

Inside, the cabin receives a two-tone leather finish combining Slate grey and Guards red, along with contrast stitching and premium details such as woven leather and a wooden gear lever knob.

Extra Details for Enthusiasts

Porsche also offers a lightweight storage box with an 80-liter capacity that fits behind the cabin. It weighs just 10 kg and can be customized to match the interior design.

Porsche Design also offers a special watch exclusively for 911 GT3 S/C owners, featuring design elements inspired by the car itself, such as body colors and wheel styling, with a titanium case and officially certified chronograph movement.
