Following the release of official images over the weekend, the all-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade has made its debut in a YouTube video from a South Korean channel. Known for their generational design updates, Hyundai has stirred significant excitement with the Palisade’s first major redesign in six years. This reveal comes after the company’s recent teaser images of its largest gasoline-powered SUV, and prototypes have already been spotted driving without camouflage.
The new design introduces several intriguing elements. Notably, the third brake light features a U-shaped design that matches the width of the roof spoiler. The rear window wiper is cleverly concealed beneath the spoiler, reminiscent of a design approach used by the British Range Rover. Additionally, the rearview camera is integrated into the rear door glass, positioned just above the Hyundai logo. There’s also a secondary camera above the license plate. While Hyundai has yet to release full specifications, the upper camera is likely intended for safety and driver assistance, while the lower one serves as the traditional rearview camera.
The vertical taillights are highlighted by prominent LED strips forming an “L” shape, a design mirrored by the daytime running lights and turn signals at the front. The low and high beams consist of stacked rectangular lights framing the grille. In the prototype shown in the video, the integrated light bar appears only partially activated, which explains the flashing daytime running lights.
Another video showcases a 2026 Hyundai Palisade in an underground parking garage in South Korea, offering a look at the interior. One standout feature is a front bench seat, similar to those found in pickup trucks. This design allows the Palisade to accommodate up to nine passengers. The middle seat in the front row folds down into a center console, equipped with cupholders, USB ports, and a wireless charging pad. When the console is lifted, the headrest becomes visible, allowing three passengers to sit in the front row. With seating for three more in the second and third rows, the new Palisade provides a total of nine seats.
This configuration makes the Palisade an appealing alternative to minivans like the Kia Carnival and Hyundai Staria, both of which can seat up to 11 passengers in some markets. In South Korea, this nine-seater configuration allows drivers to legally use the bus lane, enhancing its practicality.
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade ’s boxy design may give an impression of increased size. The outgoing model, which falls into the full-size SUV category, measures 4,995mm in length. However, it’s still smaller than Hyundai’s recently introduced all-electric Ioniq 9, which measures 5,060mm in length. While the Ioniq 9 seats up to seven passengers, the new Palisade offers more versatility with its nine-passenger capacity.
With this redesign, Hyundai appears ready to make a strong impact in the SUV market, combining innovative design, practical features, and expanded seating options to meet the needs of modern families.
