The summer of 2026 might be anything but ordinary. Genesis is preparing to shake up the performance EV world with the GV60 Magma, a fiery electric SUV expected to deliver more than 600 horsepower while blending track-ready excitement with the refined luxury the brand is known for.
Genesis has officially confirmed the arrival of the GV60 Magma, marking the first production model from its new Magma performance division. The car is scheduled to launch globally, with the United States expected to be one of its key markets.
But Genesis isn’t simply building a faster electric crossover. The brand is aiming for something more sophisticated — a luxury-focused performance EV that can rival the thrill of Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N, while wrapping it in a more premium and refined experience.
A Bold Design That Matches Its Name
The first thing that grabs your attention is the striking Magma Orange paint, a color that perfectly reflects the car’s volcanic personality. But the visual transformation goes far beyond a new shade.
Compared with the standard GV60, the Magma version sits lower and wider, giving it a more aggressive stance and improved stability. The bodywork has been expanded to enhance both performance and visual presence.
Aerodynamics also play a major role. The GV60 Magma features functional air vents, a sharper front design, and a sporty rear wing that helps increase downforce at speed.
The look is completed by large 21-inch wheels wrapped in wide summer performance tires that fill the muscular wheel arches.
Performance Built for Pure Driving Excitement
Underneath its sculpted body lies a dual-motor electric powertrain designed to deliver serious performance.
In its standard configuration, the system produces 601 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.
Activate Boost mode, and power temporarily climbs to around 641 horsepower, potentially reaching close to 650 horsepower under certain conditions. Torque also increases to 790 Nm, delivering explosive acceleration.
Genesis has even added a Drift Mode, directing more power to the rear wheels while relaxing stability control to allow controlled slides.
To make the experience even more engaging, the GV60 Magma includes simulated gear shifts and performance sound effects, giving drivers a more emotional connection that many EVs often lack.
