Geely has released new official images of the upcoming Geely Galaxy Zhanjian 700, also known as the Galaxy Cruiser 700.
The SUV is scheduled to launch in China later this year, where it will compete in the growing segment of plug in hybrid off road SUVs. It serves as the production version of the Galaxy Cruiser concept first shown at Auto Shanghai 2025.
A Powerful Plug In Hybrid Off Roader
Geely previously confirmed that the first off road SUV from its Galaxy lineup would use a plug in hybrid system combining a gasoline engine with three electric motors.
The newly released images show the Galaxy Cruiser 700 finished in green, featuring a rugged boxy design with rectangular headlights, large bumpers, wide fenders, black pillars, and a side opening tailgate carrying a full size spare wheel.
Traditional door handles, roof rails, and a prominent hood with a slim air intake further reinforce its off road character.
At the rear, the SUV features vertical taillights with three square lighting elements, while a camera is mounted above the center brake light.
Advanced Technology And Over 1,100 Horsepower
The Galaxy Cruiser 700 is equipped with a roof mounted LiDAR sensor and a millimeter wave radar integrated into the front bumper.
Power comes from a plug in hybrid system producing a combined output of 830 kW, equivalent to 1,113 horsepower. Geely says the vehicle delivers a power to weight ratio of 288 kW per ton, suggesting a curb weight of approximately 2,880 kg.
The powertrain includes two electric motors on the rear axle, linked through a fluid coupling locking mechanism.
The SUV also features an independent rear suspension setup and an in house developed dynamic control system that allows it to successfully complete a moose test at speeds of up to 80 km/h.
Geely Galaxy Sales
Geely Galaxy delivered 71,553 vehicles in China during May 2026, representing a year over year decline of 9.8%.
Outside China, Galaxy models are sold under the Geely brand. Globally, Geely recorded sales of 133,355 electric and plug in hybrid vehicles in May 2025.
