Unveiled at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, the Geely Cowboy represents a rugged evolution of the Geely Icon, a model that has been on the market since 2020. This latest version comes with distinctive design elements and off-road accessories, giving it a more robust and adventurous appearance.
Key Features of the Geely Cowboy
The Cowboy stands out from the Geely Icon with features such as redesigned bumpers and enhanced side protection. It also sports heavy plastic cladding around the wheel arches, adding to its off-road appeal. Additional highlights include a roof rack with built-in LED lighting and exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tires. At the rear, what appears to be a spare tire holder is actually a dedicated storage space for wet or dirty items. There’s also an accessory box mounted on the C-pillar, reminiscent of the design seen on the Land Rover Defender.
The Geely Cowboy is offered in four color choices: Snow White, Forest Green, Volcano Grey, and Desert Brown.

Performance and Specifications
Built on Geely’s B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA), the Cowboy is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine delivers 178 horsepower (180 European PS) and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Despite its adventure-ready looks, the SUV operates on a front-wheel-drive system, lacking the four-wheel drive capability typically associated with off-road vehicles.
Pricing of the Geely Cowboy
The Geely Cowboy is set to hit the Chinese market with a starting price of 95,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately $13,200 or 49,500 SAR. Notably, this makes it more affordable than the current Geely Icon, which starts at 96,900 yuan, or around $13,400 or 50,250 SAR.
