Ferrari is preparing to enter a completely new chapter with the launch of its first fully electric model, reportedly named Lucia. According to Bloomberg, the Italian brand has set an initial price of around 550,000 euros, or roughly $647,100, placing the car firmly in the ultra-luxury segment before it even makes its public debut in Rome next month.
As Ferrari has not yet officially revealed the final exterior design of the Lucia, the main image used in this article is an unofficial rendering created for illustrative purposes. However, the interior and chassis images included are official Ferrari material.
The figure immediately highlights Ferrari’s strategy for its first EV. Rather than chasing volume, the company appears determined to position the car as an exclusive, high-end product aimed at collectors and loyal Ferrari customers who want the latest technology without giving up the brand’s prestige.
The launch also comes at an important time for Ferrari financially. The company recently reported lower profits compared to the previous year, with net profit falling to 50.68 million euros from 55.46 million euros in 2024. Even so, Ferrari still managed to increase revenue by 3% year-on-year, reaching 359.3 million euros, showing that demand for its cars remains strong despite a more challenging global market.
Ferrari says it expects geopolitical and economic uncertainty to continue throughout the year, especially with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East affecting global markets and trade. Despite that, the company remains optimistic and expects revenue growth of between 3% and 6% this year.
For Ferrari, the Lucia is more than just another model launch. It represents the brand’s first real step into the electric era, while trying to preserve the exclusivity, performance, and emotional appeal that have defined Ferrari for decades.
