Mazda’s biggest SUV is back for its third year, and the updates for 2026 prove you don’t always need a full redesign to make a car more tempting. The 2026 Mazda CX-90 still feels fresh, but now it’s smarter, more polished, and only a little more expensive.
When it first launched, the CX-90 brought a new platform that gave families more room and delivered stronger performance. For 2026, it gets a handful of refinements, while the starting price climbs by just $755. That means you can get behind the wheel of a Select model for $40,330 (destination included). Even at entry level, it comes with all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, LED lighting all around, and rain-sensing wipers. Mazda also adds Polymetal Gray Metallic paint to the palette and makes Alexa voice control standard across the lineup.
A Cabin That Works for Everyone
Inside, the 2026 Mazda CX-90 is still all about family-friendly space and comfort. Faux leather seating surfaces accommodate up to eight passengers, and the driver gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. The tech list starts with a 10.3-inch central display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, plus USB-C ports throughout the cabin. Add in three-zone climate control, and everyone on board can ride in comfort, no matter where they’re sitting.
Power That Fits Your Style
Most buyers will stick with the 3.3-liter turbocharged inline-six, paired to an eight-speed automatic and backed by a mild-hybrid system that sharpens throttle response. Power output depends on trim:
280 hp / 332 lb-ft in the standard setup.
340 hp / 369 lb-ft in the more powerful Turbo S.
Fuel economy stays consistent no matter which you pick, rated at 23 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, 25 mpg combined.
For drivers who want a greener option, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is still in the mix. Combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a 17.8-kWh battery, it delivers 323 hp and 369 lb-ft while offering 26 miles of all-electric range before the gas engine takes over.
Options That Feel Premium
Across nine trims, there’s no shortage of extras. Highlights include 21-inch wheels, a larger 12.3-inch display with wireless smartphone connectivity, a Bose 12-speaker system, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated Nappa leather seats, captain’s chairs in the second row, and a 360-degree camera system that boosts driver confidence.
Coming Soon
The 2026 Mazda CX-90 configurator for both Turbo and PHEV models is already live, and Mazda expects the updated SUV to land in dealerships before the end of the year.
