Bentley is marking 80 years of production at its historic Crewe factory with a very special Continental GT Azure, created as a one-off by the brand’s Mulliner division.
The car pays tribute to the 1946 Bentley Mark VI, the first model built at Crewe after the Second World War, blending details from Bentley’s past with the design and luxury of one of its most modern grand tourers.
A Modern Bentley With A Strong Connection To The Past
For the exterior, Bentley moved away from its vast range of modern paint choices and instead looked back to the Mark VI for inspiration.
The Continental GT Azure is finished in historic Barnato Green with a Mulliner Black roof, giving it a distinctly classic character. Polished carbon fiber elements from the Styling Specification add a more contemporary touch, while 22-inch wheels finished in black and polished metal complete the look.
Inside, the connection to Bentley’s heritage becomes even clearer. The cabin combines deep red Cricket Ball leather with Beluga black trim and the brand’s familiar diamond quilting.
Burr Walnut veneer was chosen as a reference to the dashboard of the original 1946 Mark VI, while a slim chrome strip runs across the doors to add another elegant detail.
Bentley also added illuminated door sills featuring the silhouettes of both the Mark VI and the modern Continental GT, along with the inscription celebrating 80 years of production at Crewe from 1946 to 2026.
Bringing Two Generations Of Bentley Together
The special Continental GT Azure was displayed alongside the original Mark VI from Bentley’s Heritage Collection, creating a direct link between the company’s early post-war era and its current generation of luxury cars.
The Mark VI remains an important model in Bentley’s history. It was the first Bentley to use a standard steel body and came with a 4.2-liter six-cylinder engine. It also earned a reputation for impressive durability, with some examples capable of covering more than 100,000 miles without requiring an engine rebuild.
Unlike many limited-edition luxury cars, this Continental GT Azure will not become part of a production run. Bentley has confirmed that it is a true one-off, created specifically for the Crewe anniversary and not offered as a package or specification customers can order.

This special Continental GT Azure shows exactly what Mulliner does best. Rather than simply adding unique colors and badges, Bentley has used the car to tell a story about its history.
The connection between the 1946 Mark VI and the 2026 Continental GT gives the car more meaning than a typical anniversary edition, especially for collectors who value heritage as much as exclusivity.
It also proves that classic colors and materials can still look completely at home on a modern luxury grand tourer.
