Aston Martin is commemorating the 60th anniversary of the iconic James Bond film Goldfinger with the release of a special edition DB12, known as the Goldfinger Edition. This model, limited to just 60 units worldwide, features a blend of modern luxury and nostalgic elements that pay homage to the DB5 driven by 007 in the 1964 film.
The collaboration between Aston Martin and the James Bond franchise has been ongoing for six decades, beginning with Goldfinger and solidifying Aston Martin as a key player in Bond’s cinematic legacy. The DB12 Goldfinger Edition, developed by Aston Martin’s Q personalization department, is a fitting tribute to this enduring relationship. The car’s exterior is finished in Silver Birch, a color that mirrors the DB5 from the movie. Other exterior touches include gold accents on the side strakes, unique 21-inch silver multi-spoke wheels paired with black brake calipers, and a silver-and-black Aston Martin badge. A Q fender badge further distinguishes this limited-run model.
Inside the cabin, the special edition DB12 continues its homage to the DB5. The seats feature a fluted leather design, with a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern reminiscent of James Bond’s suits. This detailing extends to the headliner and door cards, adding a layer of sophistication that echoes the film’s stylish aesthetic. Gold accents are present throughout the interior, with 18k gold plating on various controls, including the drive mode selector and gear shift, both of which are uniquely designed to evoke elements from the film. Carbon fiber trim with woven gold fibers adds to the luxurious feel, while a unique ‘Eight of Hearts’ motif is embroidered onto the driver’s sun visor—a nod to the famous Miami pool scene from Goldfinger.
This limited edition is more than just a visual tribute. Each car comes with exclusive gifts, including a bespoke car cover, a key presentation box, a Silver Birch Speedform model, and a section of the Furka Pass scene from Goldfinger in 35mm film. Buyers will also receive a custom attaché case filled with gifts, including a magnum of 2007 vintage Champagne Bollinger and four exclusive 007 Bollinger glasses, all housed in a Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case.
The DB12 Goldfinger Edition is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz, producing 671 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). The powertrain ensures that the car is not only a nod to the past but also a high-performance grand tourer fit for modern driving enthusiasts.
The exclusivity of the DB12 Goldfinger Edition is heightened by its limited production, with only 60 units being made.
