Kia has appointed Al Tayer Motors as its new exclusive distributor in the UAE, marking a major change in the Korean brand’s local operations.
Under the new arrangement, Al Tayer Motors will handle Kia sales and after-sales services across Dubai and the Northern Emirates, while Premier Motors, part of Al Tayer Group, will take responsibility for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Kia says the move is part of its next phase of growth in the UAE, with a stronger focus on customer service, innovation, and long-term expansion. The company also plans to continue developing its presence in electric vehicles and sustainable mobility as demand for electrified cars continues to grow in the region.
Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, Managing Director of Al Tayer Motors, said Kia has built a strong customer base in the UAE over the years. He added that Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors will work to maintain a high standard of sales, maintenance, and customer support for existing and future Kia owners.
Kia Middle East and Africa President Ho Sung Song Kim said the partnership with Al Tayer Motors supports the brand’s wider growth strategy in the UAE. Kia will rely on the experience and local market knowledge of Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors as it expands its operations and prepares for future launches.
The appointment also brings an end to Kia’s long-standing relationship with Juma Al Majid Group, which represented the brand in the UAE for many years. Kia thanked the group for its contribution to building the brand’s presence and establishing a strong customer base in the country.
For current Kia owners, the company says the transition should be seamless. Existing warranties, maintenance contracts, and after-sales commitments will remain valid, with services continuing without interruption as operations move to the new distributors.
Kia currently offers a wide range of vehicles in the UAE, including passenger cars, SUVs, electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, and pickup trucks. The brand recently introduced the electric PV5 and has confirmed that more models are expected to join its local lineup during the year.
