2027 Kia K5 Gets A Small Price Hike As EX Trim Disappears

Kia has revealed pricing for the 2027 K5, and while buyers will have to pay a little more this time around, the bigger news is a change to the sedan’s trim lineup.

Prices are up by $300 across the range, while the destination charge has increased to $1,245. Once that is factored in, a 2027 K5 will cost $370 more than the equivalent 2026 model.

Kia Drops The K5 EX For 2027

The biggest change for the new model year is the disappearance of the EX trim. Kia has removed it from the lineup entirely, leaving the performance-focused K5 GT as the most expensive version available.

Kia is filling some of that gap with a new Convenience Package for the K5 GT-Line. It adds ventilated front seats, memory settings for the driver’s seat, and power-folding side mirrors, bringing some of the comfort features previously associated with the more upscale EX to the GT-Line.

2027 Kia K5 Prices

The entry-level K5 LXS FWD starts at $27,690, or around SAR 103,838.

Moving up to the K5 GT-Line FWD raises the price to $28,690, equivalent to approximately SAR 107,588.

The K5 GT-Line AWD starts at $30,290, or roughly SAR 113,588.

At the top of the range, the performance-oriented K5 GT is priced from $33,490, equivalent to around SAR 125,588.

The K5 EX is no longer offered for the 2027 model year.

These prices do not include Kia’s $1,245 destination charge, equivalent to approximately SAR 4,669.

Familiar Engines Remain

Under the hood, Kia has kept things largely unchanged.

The K5 LXS and GT-Line continue to use a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 191 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive available on the GT-Line.

Drivers looking for considerably more performance can step up to the K5 GT. Its 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 290 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

That combination allows the K5 GT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.

ArabGT Opinion

Despite the price increase, the 2027 Kia K5 continues to occupy an attractive position among midsize sedans, particularly against established rivals such as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

Dropping the EX does make the lineup a little less varied, especially for buyers who wanted a more comfort-focused K5 without moving toward the GT. The new Convenience Package for the GT-Line helps address that by bringing desirable features such as ventilated seats and driver-seat memory to a more accessible trim.

For buyers who simply want a well-equipped midsize sedan, the GT-Line could therefore become an even more important part of the K5 lineup for 2027.

What Do You Think?

Does the modest price increase still make sense now that Kia has dropped the EX trim, or does the new GT-Line Convenience Package make up for its absence?
