Aston Martin has officially revealed the 2026 Vanquish Volante, a stunning luxury convertible engineered to deliver a remarkable balance of performance, elegance, and innovation. With its headline-grabbing 824 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V12 engine and a top speed of 344 km/h (214 mph), the Volante claims the title of the world’s fastest front-engined convertible.

An Evolution in Open-Top Design

Aston Martin’s design language has always been synonymous with timeless appeal, and the new Vanquish Volante carries that legacy forward with a bold yet refined twist. The car’s proportions are enhanced by a sleek retractable fabric roof that tucks away beneath the trunk lid in just 14 seconds, opening the cabin to the outside world.

Flared arches, a stretched hood, and short overhangs lend the Volante a powerful stance, while the sculpted surfaces and low profile give it unmistakable presence. Signature details such as the trademark grille, aggressive LED headlamp units, and aerodynamic air intakes reinforce its performance credentials.

Built using a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum, the Vanquish Volante keeps weight in check while maintaining structural integrity. Reinforcements added to offset the loss of a fixed roof have increased the car’s weight by just 95 kg (209 lb) over the coupe. To preserve the dynamic driving character, Aston Martin engineers recalibrated the suspension with Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers.

The convertible variant benefits from revised rear styling that ditches the coupe’s integrated ducktail spoiler, resulting in a cleaner, more streamlined silhouette. The K-shaped roof design not only enhances visual balance but also provides acoustic insulation and thermal protection comparable to the coupe’s hardtop.

Powertrain and Performance

At its core, the 2026 Vanquish Volante is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine producing a formidable 824 hp (835 PS) and 1,000 Nm of torque. Mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and an electronic limited-slip differential, the power is directed exclusively to the rear wheels.

While the convertible version matches the coupe’s 344 km/h (214 mph) top speed, it accelerates slightly slower, taking 3.4 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph). For comparison, the Ferrari Ducati Hypercar achieves the same in 2.95 seconds, though it falls short in overall top speed at 340 km/h (211 mph).

Luxurious and Connected Interior

Inside, the 2026 Vanquish Volante retains a two-seat layout with updated controls tailored for the convertible experience. A dedicated button operates the fabric roof, while another provides direct access to the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Twin 10.25-inch screens deliver infotainment and vehicle data, complemented by a premium 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system specifically tuned for the open cabin environment.

The cabin features Sport Plus seats as standard, with the option to upgrade to lightweight carbon fiber performance seats. Additional enhancements include a more vocal titanium exhaust system and a bespoke leather luggage set, reinforcing its grand touring pedigree.
