Auto manufacturers typically reserve significant powertrain updates for major model refreshes or complete redesigns. However, Infiniti has taken a different approach with the 2025 QX60. Although the current-generation QX60, which debuted in 2022, continues into 2025 with the same exterior and interior design, the most notable changes are found under the hood.

Engine and Performance

The 2025 Infiniti QX60 has transitioned from a 3.5-liter V6 engine to the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine used in the QX50 and QX55. This Variable Compression Turbo engine produces 268 horsepower, a reduction from the previous 295 hp V6. Despite this decrease in horsepower, Infiniti emphasizes the increase in torque, which now stands at 286 pound-feet—16 pound-feet more than the outgoing model. This enhanced torque is expected to improve the SUV’s overall drivability and responsiveness.

The power continues to be delivered through a nine-speed automatic transmission, available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. This transmission setup remains unchanged from the previous model, providing a familiar driving experience for existing QX60 owners.

While the reduction in horsepower might seem like a drawback, Infiniti assures that the new engine configuration results in better fuel efficiency. The front-wheel-drive QX60 achieves EPA ratings of 22 miles per gallon in the city, 28 miles per gallon on the highway, and 24 miles per gallon combined. The all-wheel-drive version offers similar efficiency, with a slightly lower highway rating of 27 miles per gallon. This improvement in fuel economy makes the 2025 QX60 more attractive to buyers looking for a balance between performance and efficiency.

New Features and Trim Packages

In addition to the new engine, Infiniti has introduced the Black Edition Package for the 2025 QX60. This package, as the name suggests, incorporates various black trim elements, including wheels, badges, and grilles, giving the SUV a more aggressive and modern appearance. The Black Edition Package is designed to appeal to buyers seeking a distinctive and stylish look.

All QX60 trims now come with a new key fob that offers enhanced convenience. This key fob automatically unlocks the vehicle when you approach and locks it as you walk away, providing a seamless and user-friendly experience. Additionally, the mid-level Luxe trim now features a Bose 17-speaker stereo system as standard equipment, delivering an exceptional audio experience for music enthusiasts and audiophiles.

Pricing

The 2025 Infiniti QX60 is set to hit dealerships in mid-July, bringing with it a blend of familiar styling and innovative engineering changes. With its updated engine, improved fuel efficiency, and new features such as the Black Edition Package and the advanced key fob, the QX60 continues to be a strong contender in the luxury SUV market.

The pricing for the 2025 Infiniti QX60 has seen a slight increase compared to the previous year. The entry-level Pure model starts at $51,550, which is a $550 increase from the 2024 model. On the other end of the spectrum, the range-topping QX60 Autograph, now exclusively available with all-wheel drive, starts at $67,500, just $50 more than the 2024 AWD model. This pricing strategy ensures that the QX60 remains competitive in the luxury SUV market while offering enhanced features and improved performance.
