A Bugatti Chiron crash involving two hypercars and a truck disrupted the 2024 Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco, a prestigious event showcasing Bugatti’s luxury models through the scenic roads of the African country. The incident occurred on Monday, October 21, on a narrow road connecting Tangier and Tetouan, resulting in significant damage to both cars and the truck.
The vehicles involved were a silver Chiron Super Sport and a white Chiron Pur Sport. In a video that has since circulated on social media, the two Bugatti hypercars are seen attempting to overtake a truck on a two-lane road. As the road ahead cleared, both cars moved to pass the truck simultaneously, resulting in a collision. The Bugatti Chiron crash unfolded dramatically, with the Super Sport spinning out and colliding with the truck before veering off into a ditch.
The truck, in an attempt to avoid the collision, flipped over and landed on its side down an embankment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the extent of the damage to the vehicles and truck was significant. Photos shared by the Moroccan news site Tanjaoui.ma showed the truck overturned and the silver Chiron Super Sport’s front end badly damaged, including its bumper and hood. While the white Chiron Pur Sport did not sustain as much visible damage, both hypercars will face costly repairs.
The Bugatti Chiron crash has drawn attention to the risks of driving such powerful vehicles on narrow, challenging roads. Despite their immense price tags, controlling these hypercars requires considerable driving expertise. The Bugatti owners involved are likely facing substantial repair bills following the incident.
This Bugatti Chiron crash added an unexpected twist to the Bugatti Grand Tour Morocco 2024, which saw 12 hypercars participating, including other notable models such as the Veyron Vitesse and the Chiron Super Sport 300+. Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac was also present at the event, though he has not publicly commented on the crash.
