A Modified Mustang Shelby GT500 Sets The Quarter-Mile World Record

Today we’ll show you a video documenting the fastest speed recorded by the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 muscle car so far, doing a quarter-mile (400 meters) on the drag strip.

Before talking about the record set by the new American sports car, we would like to remind you that our colleague, Suhaib Shashaa, previously test-drove the most powerful production Ford model ever, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500, in one of the episodes of Special Coverage program, and we learned in detail about this powerful sports car.

But today, we are talking about the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, whose engine was modified to generate  945 hp. With this amount of power, the car managed to travel the quarter-mile strip in less than 10 seconds and set a new world record. But we don’t expect this number to stand, other modified Shelby cars will surely have a say about it.

Watch the video showing the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 muscle car clocking its quarter-mile record:

As we’ve seen in the video attached to this article, this modified car was able to travel a distance of 400 meters over a period of 9.93 seconds (less than 10 seconds) finishing at a speed of 225.3 km / h (140 mph).

Mechanical specifications of the new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 muscle car without any mechanical modifications are as follows:
